"Before working with Dr. McConville I was struggling with how to incorporate my faith and the outward expression of my faith in my medical practice. She has helped provide me with a wonderful fellowship but also a structured framework for allowing the Holy Spirit to work through me, even in the examining room.
Today I am incorporating a spiritual history, praying, laying hands and being guided by the Lord with my patients. I feel confident yet sensitive to the guardrails preexisting in the world of medicine.
If you are struggling with knowing that you’re meant to provide more and being led to share the Good News of how God has moved in your life to your patients but you’re not sure how…I highly recommend working with Dr McConville."

"I had the privilege of working with Dr. McConville as part of the CMDA Student Leaders Group. Coming into the training program, I found it difficult to figure out how to integrate faith into my future practice. I also felt intimidated by how being a Christian doctor is sometimes frowned upon by colleagues and patients. However, this training taught me that the most important thing is to be intentional about implementing spiritual disciplines that help you hear the voice of God in every encounter. Today, I’m excited to be a Christian in medicine and feel equipped with the tools I need—both legal knowledge and practical guidelines—to incorporate my faith into practice. If you're struggling with similar challenges, I highly recommend working with Dr. McConville."

"Participating in “Calling Kingdom Doctors'' with Dr. McConville has been a true blessing. She challenged, equipped and encouraged me to accomplish His healing by incorporating the Truth of Christ regularly into everyday clinical interactions with patients.
The training brought joy and gratitude in a busy outpatient setting and was a wonderful reminder of why I was drawn to medicine in the first place! “Calling Kingdom Doctors” is Scripture-based, Spirit-led, heart-felt and God-honouring.
Be prepared to be stretched out of your comfort zone, grow in courage and faith and be in awe of the workings of God in your practice and heart!"

"Before working with Dr McConville I was struggling to find my purpose in medicine. I thought it was impossible to align my religious values with caring for my patients. She has helped me through my own insecurities and has guided me to see God in the details and incorporate prayer in caring for my patients. Today I am a better Christian, doctor, mother and wife. I feel a new found freedom in medicine that I have never experienced before. If you are feeling burnt out and struggling with your purpose and future in medicine, I highly recommend working with Dr McConville."

"Through this training, I’ve grown significantly in my confidence to integrate faith into my future dental practice. Personally, I’ve become more grounded in my identity in Christ as a healthcare provider, and professionally, I’ve started to understand how to practically and ethically share the love of God with my patients. I now recognize my role not only as a clinician but also as a vessel of healing in a broader, spiritual sense. This training with “Calling Kingdom Doctors” has helped me see that dentistry is a ministry — a way to serve others and glorify God through both competence and compassion."

"I have known Melissa McConville (Terlingen) as a physician colleague and friend for 18 years. I have watched her faith journey through tragic personal circumstances and her drawing close to the Holy Spirit. Her focus is to be obedient to God’s call in her life to teach Christian doctors and follow His will. She has a gift of healing and spiritual discernment which is unique to this field."

"The coaching and consulting with Dr. McConville has been very productive. The course was spiritually encouraging and I really appreciate how Dr. McConville takes her direction from God, following the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit.
Dr. McConville’s background in Complementary and Alternative Modalities was super helpful and the course gave me good direction regarding my medical licensing authority.
One unexpected thing that has come out of this training, on top of me now praying for my patients, is my spiritual influence on others, such as my family, my adult children, and other doctors and trainees. It expanded a lot more than I expected."

"The training I received at Kingdom Doctors Academy has equipped me with practical skills and tools to help me in my spiritual formation. Starting with daily practices focused on developing my awareness of God and identity as a follower of Jesus provided a firm foundation upon which to add the practical knowledge and skills applicable to practice as a physician. This course has equipped me with spiritual practices including meditating on scripture throughout the day, sandwiching my day with prayer, and praying scripture over myself and my family. It has also provided me with the tools to take a spiritual history, share "faith flags", and pray with patients in a manner that does not make them feel uncomfortable or put me at unnecessary risk. Doing this along with other medical and dental students was encouraging. They inspired me by their practices, convicted me through their faithfulness, and prayed with and for me. I am excited to incorporate these practices more as I progress on my training journey. I am also grateful that I had this opportunity thanks to CMDA Canada's partnership with Kingdom Doctors Academy."

"I first met Dr. Melissa McConville at a Christian medical conference. Her passion for the Lord and her desire to equip other healthcare providers to share the love of Christ was immediately evident. As a resident, I struggled with how to develop both my professional identity and my spiritual identity—and more importantly, how to integrate the two. The prevailing narrative in medicine often suggests that faith should be kept separate from professional life. Through this course and the mentorship of Dr. Melissa McConville, I was able to grow in my personal walk with the Lord and learn practical, biblical tools to share my faith with patients and colleagues in a respectful way to both people, law and ethics. This course has significantly shaped me—not only as a Christian, but also as a Christian physician. I pray that many others will be equipped and encouraged in the same way.

"Since completing the introductory course offered by Dr. McConville, I have grown in confidence in my ability to integrate faith and practice, such that I am experiencing more joy and excitement in my daily clinical work than ever before. Prior to training with Dr. McConville, I would take a religious or spiritual history infrequently, maybe a couple times per month, and never in depth but sticking to the superficial questions. However, with the skills and knowledge I now possess about how to ask about some of a patient's most closely held beliefs, I find myself now inquiring about this area of my patients lives much more intentionally, and into much more depth. I have had the lovely experience of discovering that the vast majority of my patients appreciate and are grateful to discuss their beliefs with me, and find many of them to be interested in understanding my religious and spiritual beliefs. This has opened up the door for me to begin building relationships with patients that not only lead to better psychiatric care for them and a more fulfilling practice for me, but also opening the door for opportunities to arise in which I might share the good news of God's gift to us in his son Jesus Christ in a way that feels authentic and natural. My only regret in having taken the time to do this training with Dr. McConville is not having done it earlier in my career."
